does anyone else hate how football has had its name changed to 'soccer' in some english speaking countries?

most notable the u.s. and australia, yet in american version of football they use their hands, which in not football and should instead called 'soccer' - why do you think they stole the name??? and doesn't it annoy you?

A. American Football is a sport derived from Rugby Football (which is actually the original name of the sport but now mainly known as Rugby for both Rugby codes in League and Union).
You can make the connection here as to why American Football or Aussie Rules Football are named the way they are.

B. The British are the the ones who actually came up with the name Soccer, which was a slang derived from the word Association in the original name of the sport, Association Football. So the term was not originated in the countries who coins the sport of Football as Soccer.

Does it annoy me....well....one gets used to it, saying Footy does do a decent job in differentiating both sports though.
