If back in the day white people were given the option to vote on Desegregation, it would of never happend. So why are voters in California being allowed to discrimiate against gay people LEGALLY by voting against gay marriage? If you dont support gay marriage, then dont marry someone of the same sex.

Both parties think government and religion should mix and match, the democrats just want to legalize gay marriage.....in all reality they are both wrong!

Government shouldn't even be in marriage in the first place....

If the moral majority controls society, then we make the rules you faggot. Go move to England where there are plenty of your degenerate kind if you don't like it here.

I believe that gays should have the right to marry each other. I believe that you shouldn't use religous beliefs to keep others from being married. They did the same with interracial relationships back in the day.

Mildred Loving (the wife in Loving vs. Virginia supreme court ruling leading to end of interracial marriage bans in USA) believes that gay marriage should be legal. She said that religion shouldn't keep people that love each other from being married.

I am son of black man and white woman myself.

Because what type sex you prefer, from a man or a woman doesn't equate to race at all. Sexual preference should not be compared to the civil rights movement. I have no problem with gay marriage but have a problem when the systemic demoralization and blatant racism of the civil rights movement is lowered in comparison to being queer or not.

Well, that's a good point. Voting against discrimination in a way legalizes it. However, if California doesn't take Massachusetts's lead of legalizing gay marriage, the rest of the country will still refuse to sanction same-sex marriages and there may be no country-wide movement.
