Taking an example from Cricket.
What if international players had central contracts like in cricket?? (paid for by the contry's football associations)

All would still belong to a club but say a 23 man international squad that only plays international football.

Obviously this would take alot of talent away from club level but with the implementing of then new rules.
Only 25 players in a club squad
8 players to be home grown
4 players to be under 21.

Taking away some of the top talent would leave space to help the development of younger players.

Then International football could take pace whenever they feel like which will also make for better games at the highest level as they would all have more time to gel together.

An international football league to pay for this (as associations would obviously need more money to pay contracts) Leagues of 12 done by the world rankings would also help smaller nations develop as they would get alot more games.

This sounds like a good game to spend time with.. Players would be more active in playing and promoting this game.. only if they had central contracts..
